Very pleasant experience! You don't have to wait until Thanksgiving for turkey. This was the best open faced turkey sandwich I have ever had. I'm a big fan! Atmosphere is comfortable with dim lighting. Service, food and martinis were all fabulous. Can't wait to come back.
Overview
Walking into Jimmy's Kitchen And Bar for the first time felt familiar in the best way, like a neighborhood diner that decided to grow up without losing its soul. Located at 11000 Red Cir Dr, Minnetonka, MN 55343, United States, the place sits comfortably among offices and residential pockets, which explains why the dining room is a mix of regulars, families, and people grabbing a casual business lunch. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon after hearing multiple friends describe it as the kind of place you end up craving again the next day, and that description turned out to be accurate.
The menu leans classic American with a modern bar twist, and that balance is intentional. According to National Restaurant Association data from 2024, diners consistently favor restaurants that offer familiar comfort food with small upgrades, and this spot clearly understands that trend. Burgers are the backbone here, but theyβre treated with care: freshly formed patties, toasted buns, and toppings that make sense rather than distract. I watched the kitchen during a quieter moment, and you can see the process is consistent-flat-top grilling, careful seasoning, and plating that looks honest rather than overstyled.
The bar side deserves its own attention. The drink list includes local beers, classic cocktails, and seasonal specials that rotate often enough to keep things interesting. During my visit, the bartender explained how they test new drinks in small batches before adding them permanently, which is a smart, low-risk method many reputable bar programs use. That kind of behind-the-scenes care shows up in the glass. My old fashioned was balanced, not overly sweet, and served with confidence rather than flair.
Reviews from locals often mention the staff, and thatβs not an exaggeration. Service is relaxed but attentive, the kind where refills appear without interrupting the conversation. Hospitality research from Cornellβs School of Hotel Administration consistently links repeat visits to staff consistency, and itβs clear why this place has loyal customers. Servers know the menu well and arenβt afraid to recommend favorites or steer you away from something if itβs not your style.
The atmosphere stays casual throughout the day, shifting slightly in the evening when the bar fills up and TVs switch to live sports. It works because the layout supports both dining and socializing without either feeling cramped. While thereβs only one primary location, the space itself feels flexible enough to handle everything from quiet lunches to lively weekend nights.
No restaurant is perfect, and during peak hours waits can stretch longer than expected, especially on Fridays. Thatβs something worth planning around. Still, the consistency of food, the approachable menu, and the steady service make the wait feel understandable rather than frustrating.
If youβre someone who values reliable comfort food, well-made drinks, and a place where the staff treats you like a regular even on your first visit, this diner-style bar checks the boxes. Itβs the kind of restaurant that earns its reputation through repetition, not hype, and thatβs usually where the best meals are found.

Went here on Thanksgiving to enjoy a margarita. They only had one yet it was pretty good, the place was packed yet not too loud. Would recommend.
We usually go there for the holiday meal spreads, thanksgiving, Xmas or Easter. Easter is a huge buffet that I highly recommend. The other two are pre-selected items that you only have a couple of choices on. The food overall is pretty good. The Easter buffet is fabulous with everything from prime rib to eggs Benedict. Several items for dessert too. Personally, I think it's a little pricey, about $35 to $40 per person. But you can have as much as you want to eat. The entire staff is top notch and very friendly. Reservations for these events is mandatory.
Great happy hour drinks and food. Brussel sprouts and Poke Bowl were fabulous. Service was quick as we got there before it got busy and the wait staff was great.
I guess I take pictures after I try something haha Yum Beef Wellington was newly added and it's good. Can't compare to others as this is the first time I have tried it.
What an awesome restaurant! We were in town for state football and were looking for a place to celebrate our win with our large extended family. After making a reservation for a large group the manager seated us in a private nook perfect for us. Our server Jessica came in and handled the large meal like a pro! All of the meals were spot on and delicious. Can't thank you guys enough for the great experience!! We will be back again! (with a smaller group )
I had never been to Jimmy's before and it was suggested to me by a friend as a great place with good food and a relaxed atmosphere so I decided to plan a surprise get together at Jimmy's during happy hour and it was exactly how I envisioned it and the whole process was wonderful. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Monet the event coordinator exceeded my expectations! Monet was courteous and professional, had excellent communication with me and answered all my questions and even offered suggestions to help with things that I had not thought of. Monet assisted me during the entire process and made me feel my event was as important to them as it was to me and I can't tell you how appreciated that is! The server we had, Tricia, was so so kind and attentive to our needs and worked very hard to make sure everything went smoothly and we had a wonderful time! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the whole experience, the food was great, the environment was great, the service was great, our guests had a wonderful time and most of them had also never been to Jimmy's and all said they will be back as will I! I wanted to pass along my many thanks to you and your staff as I truly feel that you have created a caring culture within your staff that is shared with your guests making us feel like family and that is more few and far between nowadays! Again, wanted to share my thanks and pass along what an outstanding time we had!
